Molybdenum plates are available in various grades and specifications to suit different application requirements. Some common grades and specifications include:

Pure Molybdenum (Mo): Pure molybdenum plates are typically composed of at least 99.95% molybdenum. These plates offer high purity and excellent mechanical and thermal properties, making them suitable for a wide range of applications, including high-temperature furnace components, aerospace components, and electrical contacts.
TZM Alloy: TZM is an acronym for titanium-zirconium-molybdenum. TZM alloy plates contain small additions of titanium and zirconium, which enhance the mechanical properties and high-temperature strength of pure molybdenum. TZM plates are often used in applications requiring improved creep resistance and higher operating temperatures, such as in rocket nozzles, heat shields, and hot runner systems for plastic injection molding.

MHC (Molybdenum Hafnium Carbide) Alloy: MHC alloy plates contain small additions of hafnium and carbon, which form carbide precipitates that improve the strength and recrystallization resistance of molybdenum. MHC plates offer superior performance at elevated temperatures and in aggressive environments, making them suitable for applications such as aerospace propulsion systems, nuclear reactors, and high-temperature furnace components.
Molybdenum-Lanthanum (Mo-La) Alloy: Mo-La alloy plates contain small additions of lanthanum, which improve the recrystallization resistance and high-temperature strength of molybdenum. Mo-La plates are often used in applications requiring enhanced creep resistance and resistance to hydrogen embrittlement, such as in high-temperature furnaces, sintering trays, and electrical discharge machining (EDM) electrodes.
Specifications: Molybdenum plates are available in various sizes, thicknesses, and surface finishes to meet specific application requirements. Common thicknesses range from a few millimeters to several centimeters, while plate dimensions can vary from small pieces for laboratory use to large plates for industrial applications. Surface finishes may include polished, ground, or as-rolled surfaces, depending on the intended application.
When selecting molybdenum plates, it's essential to consider factors such as operating temperature, mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and dimensional requirements to choose the most suitable grade and specification for the application.
